A technical seminar on discussing the problem of fly infestation in the Poultry industry was held in Namakkal on 6th of August, 2024. 20+ companies participated in the seminar with revolutionary products to tackle the problem of flies in poultry farms. And FlyTrap.in was one of them.

The Technical Seminar
The main objective of the technical seminar was to present solutions to the serious fly infestation problem in poultry farms. Flies are a nuisance as they not only cause stress in the birds but are vector to more than 100 pathogens carrying bacteria like Salmonella, Pasteurella and E. Coli. The flies cause many serious diseases like:
- Merek’s disease – a herpes virus infection
- Fowl cholera – highly contagious bacterial diseases
- Avian influenza
- Infectious bronchitis
- Mycoplasma
The sheer stress caused by them in birds can reduce the egg count resulting in large business losses. Also, a common problem of egg spotting due to flies reduces the sale value of eggs.
